Alchemic Verse

Transmuting pain to poetry

Half

Lax lashes flicker low
To shape what sunlight shows
In lines
When raised the piercing glow
Burns colored imprints thrown
Half blind
In filtered eyes half-closed
Half light and half shadow
Do find
Half hidden half disclosed
Blanks filled by heart and nose
And mind

Let light grow
Leave what you know
Behind

Tongue that touches truth
Tastes bittersweet of youth
Half stale
Runs laps around each tooth
Frees words stuck at the roof
Half failed
Mouth holds phrases half-couth
Half sound born new to soothe
Exhaled
Slow movements print the proof
A future spoken through
New tales

Let them flow
Speak what you know
Unveil

Bare skin that bears the breeze
Where it’s covered beats the freeze
Half heat
Blown brushes touch and tease
Fresh frisson folds the knees
Half sweet
Half fear that seeks to seize
Soft shivers foul and free
Repeat
Each gale brings in new keys
That open and release
Defeat

Let wind blow
Feel what you know
Complete
